Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Marilyn Monroe vs Clark Gable by Kim Dong-Yoo was sold in the Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) auction at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2010. The price achieved of HKD 740,000.00 (€ 73,114.45) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 600,000.00 – 1,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by Kim Dong-Yoo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mao Vs. Monroe in February 2008 with an auction result of GBP 345,300.00 (€ 451,638.85).

Die Arbeit Marilyn Monroe vs Clark Gable von Kim Dong-Yoo wurde im November 2010 in der Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 740.000,00 (€ 73.114,45) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 600.000,00 – 1.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kim Dong-Yoo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mao Vs.
