Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Instant Landscape-Machine 1 by Kim Nam Pyo was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in May 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 6,875.00 (€ 799.13). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kim Nam Pyo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Instant Landscape in May 2014 with an auction result of HKD 125,000.00 (€ 11,821.85).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Instant Landscape-Machine 1 von Kim Nam Pyo im Mai 2020 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 6.875,00 (€ 799,13) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kim Nam Pyo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Instant Landscape im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 125.000,00 (€ 11.821,85).
