Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Kobayashi Kiyochika could be acquired at Christies in New York in March 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Japanese Art Including Property of The Metropolitan Museum of Art auction, the work Unknown changed hands for USD 600.00 (€ 494.27) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kobayashi Kiyochika achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fudo Myoo in September 2004 with an auction result of USD 28,680.00 (€ 23,097.37).
