The work Unknown by Kobayashi Kiyochika was sold in the Japanese Art Including Property of The Metropolitan Museum of Art auction at Christies in New York in March 2006. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,920.00 (€ 1,581.68), 28% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kobayashi Kiyochika achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fudo Myoo in September 2004 with an auction result of USD 28,680.00 (€ 23,097.37).

Die Arbeit Unknown von Kobayashi Kiyochika wurde im März 2006 in der Auktion Japanese Art Including Property of The Metropolitan Museum of Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.920,00 (€ 1.581,68) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kobayashi Kiyochika erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fudo Myoo im September 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 28.680,00 (€ 23.097,37).
