In December last year Christies in Hong Kong held the auction 20th Century Art Day Sale, which included the work Women and Children in the Garden by Le Pho. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 2,016,000.00 (€ 241,588.33), 68% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Le Pho have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Figures in a garden in April last year with an auction result of HKD 17,920,000.00 (€ 2,166,658.44).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 68 % übertroffen
Im Dezember letzten Jahres führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th Century Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Women and Children in the Garden von Le Pho zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 2.016.000,00 (€ 241.588,33) und damit 68% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Le Pho auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Figures in a garden im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 17.920.000,00 (€ 2.166.658,44).
