Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Herald of a New Day by Leon Underwood was sold in the Outside In: The Dr. Jeffrey Sherwin Collection auction at Christies in London in November 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,678.06) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Leon Underwood have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sungirl in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 91,250.00 (€ 100,951.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Herald of a New Day von Leon Underwood wurde im November 2019 in der Auktion Outside In: The Dr. Jeffrey Sherwin Collection bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 14.678,06) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Leon Underwood auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sungirl im Juni 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 91.250,00 (€ 100.951,16).
