Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Côte dieppoise by Leonid Berman was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 2,500.00 (€ 2,922.91). Admittedly, works by Leonid Berman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Diabolo Players in March 2021 with an auction result of EUR 17,640.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Côte dieppoise von Leonid Berman im Dezember 2016 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 2.500,00 (€ 2.922,91) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Leonid Berman auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Diabolo Players im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 17.640,00.
