This artwork by Leslie Saalburg achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2010. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work The Salon des Automobiles, Paris sold for GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,174.99) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Leslie Saalburg; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Huntstmen gathering for a winter's morning meet (illustrated); Picnic lunch at a point-to-point; and Rolls Royce on Gold Cup Day, Ascot sold at auction in December 2010 with the realized price of GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,769.99).
