Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ink Element No. 20160512 by Li Gang was sold in the Chinese Contemporary Ink auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2018. The price achieved of HKD 100,000.00 (€ 10,925.45) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Li Gang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Elements of Ink No. 20140320, which sold at auction in May 2017 for HKD 250,000.00 (€ 28,546.64).

Die Arbeit Ink Element No. 20160512 von Li Gang wurde im Mai 2018 in der Auktion Chinese Contemporary Ink bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 100.000,00 (€ 10.925,45) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Li Gang mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Elements of Ink No. 20140320 beobachtet, die im Mai 2017 für HKD 250.000,00 (€ 28.546,64) versteigert wurde.
