Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Elements of Ink No. 20160204 by Li Gang was sold in the FIRST OPEN | Shanghai auction at Christies in Shanghai in October 2016. The price achieved of CNY 72,000.00 (€ 9,694.58) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as CNY 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Li Gang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Elements of Ink No. 20140320, which sold at auction in May 2017 for HKD 250,000.00 (€ 28,546.64).

Die Arbeit Elements of Ink No. 20160204 von Li Gang wurde im Oktober 2016 in der Auktion FIRST OPEN | Shanghai bei Christies in Shanghai versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von CNY 72.000,00 (€ 9.694,58) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit CNY 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Li Gang mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Elements of Ink No. 20140320 beobachtet, die im Mai 2017 für HKD 250.000,00 (€ 28.546,64) versteigert wurde.
