Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Echo Rocks near Cotamputty, Burma, 1855 by Linnaeus Tripe was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2000. The price achieved of GBP 1,762.50 (€ 2,828.16) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Linnaeus Tripe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Views of India, Indonesia and Myanmar (Burma), c. 1858 in September 2017 with an auction result of USD 107,500.00 (€ 91,001.44).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.762,50 (€ 2.828,16) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden.
