Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2021 POLY in Hong Kong held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale in association with Phillips, which included the work Purple Air 5 by Liu Wei. The price achieved of HKD 1,764,000.00 (€ 191,616.14) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 1,200,000.00 – 2,200,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Liu Wei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Revolutionary Family Series (Triptych) in April 2016 with an auction result of HKD 38,840,000.00 (€ 4,375,907.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2021 führte POLY in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale in association with Phillips durch, in der auch die Arbeit Purple Air 5 von Liu Wei zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 1.764.000,00 (€ 191.616,14) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 1.200.000,00 – 2.200.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Liu Wei erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Revolutionary Family Series (Triptych) im April 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 38.840.000,00 (€ 4.375.907,70).
