Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2014 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Asian Art — Evening Sale, which included the work We Love Nature by Liu Wei. It changed hands for a price of HKD 5,800,000.00 (€ 597,126.90) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 4,800,000.00 – 6,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by Liu Wei have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Revolutionary Family Series (Triptych) in April 2016 with an auction result of HKD 38,840,000.00 (€ 4,375,907.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2014 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Asian Art — Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit We Love Nature von Liu Wei zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 5.800.000,00 (€ 597.126,90) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 4.800.000,00 – 6.000.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Liu Wei auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Revolutionary Family Series (Triptych) im April 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 38.840.000,00 (€ 4.375.907,70).
