Upper estimate price exceeded by 26 %.
In October 2021 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work You Like Me, Why Not Series No. 22 by Liu Wei. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 819,000.00 (€ 91,102.41), 26% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Liu Wei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Revolutionary Family Series (Triptych) in April 2016 with an auction result of HKD 38,840,000.00 (€ 4,375,907.70).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit You Like Me, Why Not Series No. 22 von Liu Wei zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 819.000,00 (€ 91.102,41) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Liu Wei erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Revolutionary Family Series (Triptych) im April 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 38.840.000,00 (€ 4.375.907,70).
