Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Esther by Lucian Freud was sold in the Modern British & Irish Art Day Sale auction at Christies in London in October last year. It achieved a price of GBP 9,450.00 (€ 11,009.15), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 18%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lucian Freud achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Large Interior, W11 (after Watteau) in November last year with an auction result of USD 86,265,000.00 (€ 83,565,823.89).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Esther von Lucian Freud wurde im Oktober letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modern British & Irish Art Day Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 9.450,00 (€ 11.009,15) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 18%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lucian Freud erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Large Interior, W11 (after Watteau) im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 86.265.000,00 (€ 83.565.823,89).
