It achieved a price of GBP 252,000.00 (€ 293,577.21), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 26%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lucian Freud achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Large Interior, W11 (after Watteau) in November last year with an auction result of USD 86,265,000.00 (€ 83,565,823.89).

Die Arbeit Seaside Garden von Lucian Freud wurde im Oktober letzten Jahres in der Auktion 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 252.000,00 (€ 293.577,21) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 26%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lucian Freud erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Large Interior, W11 (after Watteau) im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 86.265.000,00 (€ 83.565.823,89).
