Auction result well in line with expectations
In April this year Bonhams held the auction London ColourModern British Art Online, which included this untitled work by Malcolm Hughes. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,040.00 (€ 2,324.93) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Malcolm Hughes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work White and Aluminium 1967, which sold at auction in March 2018 for GBP 5,250.00 (€ 5,977.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion London ColourModern British Art Online durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Malcolm Hughes zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.040,00 (€ 2.324,93) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Malcolm Hughes mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit White and Aluminium 1967 beobachtet, die im März 2018 für GBP 5.250,00 (€ 5.977,41) versteigert wurde.
