Auction result well in line with expectations

In September 2014 Christies in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work A L'Heure de l'Observatoire - Les Amoureux, 1932-1954 by Man Ray. The price achieved of USD 25,000.00 (€ 19,797.28) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Man Ray achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Violon d'Ingres, 1924 in May last year with an auction result of USD 12,412,500.00 (€ 11,566,955.55).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im September 2014 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit A L'Heure de l'Observatoire - Les Amoureux, 1932-1954 von Man Ray zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 19.797,28) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Man Ray erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le Violon d'Ingres, 1924 im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 12.412.500,00 (€ 11.566.955,55).
