Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November this year Bonhams in New York held the auction Surrealism Beyond Reality, which included the work Perpetual Motive by Man Ray. Here, the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 5,376.00 (€ 4,928.49). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Man Ray achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Violon d'Ingres, 1924 in May last year with an auction result of USD 12,412,500.00 (€ 11,566,955.55).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Surrealism Beyond Reality durch, in der auch die Arbeit Perpetual Motive von Man Ray zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 5.376,00 (€ 4.928,49) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Man Ray erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le Violon d'Ingres, 1924 im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 12.412.500,00 (€ 11.566.955,55).
