Auction result well in line with expectations
In November this year Christies in Sydney held the auction Photographies & Lothar Schirmer's Glamour Collection, which included the work Simone Kahn dans l'atelier d'André Breton, 1921 by Man Ray. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 8,820.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Man Ray achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Violon d'Ingres, 1924 in May last year with an auction result of USD 12,412,500.00 (€ 11,566,955.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Christies in Sydney die Auktion Photographies & Lothar Schirmer's Glamour Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Simone Kahn dans l'atelier d'André Breton, 1921 von Man Ray zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 8.820,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Man Ray erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le Violon d'Ingres, 1924 im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 12.412.500,00 (€ 11.566.955,55).
