This artwork by Manuel Serrano achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in November 2015. In the Latin American Art auction, the work El Chinaco sold for USD 106,250.00 (€ 100,596.48) - well above the upper estimate of USD 40,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Manuel Serrano; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Escena De Venta sold at auction in November 2016 with the realized price of USD 168,750.00 (€ 159,529.21).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Manuel Serrano erzielte im November 2015 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Latin American Art wurde die Arbeit El Chinaco für USD 106.250,00 (€ 100.596,48) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 40.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Manuel Serrano; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Escena De Venta im November 2016 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 168.750,00 (€ 159.529,21).
