Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2011 a collector was able to acquire the work Senza titolo by Mario Merz for EUR 37,166.60. This price was achieved in the auction Modern and Contemporary Art at Christies in Milan and was even below the estimate range of EUR 40,000.00 – 60,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mario Merz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Piccolo caimano in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 962,500.00 (€ 1,346,297.09).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai 2011 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Senza titolo von Mario Merz für EUR 37.166,60 erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Art bei Christies in Mailand erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mario Merz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Piccolo caimano im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 962.500,00 (€ 1.346.297,09).
