Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Mark Francis achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in September 2021. In the This is Tomorrow: Works from the David Ross Collection auction, the work Growth (Conceal) sold for GBP 22,680.00 (€ 26,388.49) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Mark Francis; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Symbiosis (Mesh) sold at auction in July 2008 with the realized price of GBP 32,450.00 (€ 41,228.09).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Mark Francis erzielte im September 2021 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion This is Tomorrow: Works from the David Ross Collection wurde die Arbeit Growth (Conceal) für GBP 22.680,00 (€ 26.388,49) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Mark Francis; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Symbiosis (Mesh) im Juli 2008 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 32.450,00 (€ 41.228,09).
