This artwork by Marmaduke Cradock achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in October 2004. In the THE HOUSE SALE auction, the work A Peacock, Pheasant, Hen, A Dove And Other Fowl In A River Landscape sold for USD 38,240.00 (€ 30,001.57) - well above the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Marmaduke Cradock; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Ducks on a river; and Peacock, Turkey and Chickens on a riverbank sold at auction in June 2004 with the realized price of GBP 23,900.00 (€ 35,570.36).
