In September 2014 a collector was able to acquire the work Madonna, New York City, A and B, 1979 by Martin Schreiber for USD 5,000.00 (€ 3,959.46). This price was achieved in the auction Triple XXX: Photographs from the Collection of Don Sanders at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00 set by the auction house. Despite this disappointing result, Madonna, New York City, A and B, 1979 is the most expensive artwork by Martin Schreiber that we have observed at auction so far.
