Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction Made in Britain, which included the work Look Hard For The Birds You Expect To Find by Mary Newcomb. The price achieved of GBP 20,000.00 (€ 22,690.26) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mary Newcomb - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Guinea Fowl on a Fence, which sold at auction in March 2000 for GBP 38,900.00 (€ 64,692.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2017 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Made in Britain durch, in der auch die Arbeit Look Hard For The Birds You Expect To Find von Mary Newcomb zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 20.000,00 (€ 22.690,26) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Mary Newcomb mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Guinea Fowl on a Fence beobachtet, die im März 2000 für GBP 38.900,00 (€ 64.692,48) versteigert wurde.
