Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March last year Sothebys in Paris held the auction Collection André Mourgues, Alexandre Iolas et ses artistes, which included the work L'astronaute millénaire by Max Ernst. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 23,940.00 20% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Max Ernst achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le roi jouant avec la reine in November last year with an auction result of USD 24,435,000.00 (€ 23,670,444.64).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion Collection André Mourgues, Alexandre Iolas et ses artistes durch, in der auch die Arbeit L'astronaute millénaire von Max Ernst zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 23.940,00 und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Max Ernst erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le roi jouant avec la reine im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 24.435.000,00 (€ 23.670.444,64).
