Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Michaël Borremans achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in September 2017. In the Afternoon Sale auction, the work Two sold for GBP 872,750.00 (€ 990,146.07) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 300,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Michaël Borremans - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Girl With Duck, which sold at auction in October 2015 for GBP 2,045,000.00 (€ 2,860,444.21).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Michaël Borremans erzielte im September 2017 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Afternoon Sale wurde die Arbeit Two für GBP 872.750,00 (€ 990.146,07) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 300.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Michaël Borremans mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Girl With Duck beobachtet, die im Oktober 2015 für GBP 2.045.000,00 (€ 2.860.444,21) versteigert wurde.
