Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%

This artwork by Michaël Borremans achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in London in September 2020. In the Evening & Day Editions auction, the work The Spanking sold for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,134.98) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Michaël Borremans achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Girl With Duck in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 2,045,000.00 (€ 2,860,444.21).

Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen

Dieses Kunstwerk von Michaël Borremans erzielte im September 2020 bei Phillips in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Evening & Day Editions wurde die Arbeit The Spanking für GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.134,98) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Michaël Borremans erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Girl With Duck im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.045.000,00 (€ 2.860.444,21).
