Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Tetcott Hunt by Michael Lyne was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,260.00 (€ 1,075.27). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Michael Lyne achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The End Of The Day in June 2001 with an auction result of USD 24,675.00 (€ 29,118.48).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Tetcott Hunt von Michael Lyne im September 2020 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.260,00 (€ 1.075,27) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Michael Lyne erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The End Of The Day im Juni 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 24.675,00 (€ 29.118,48).
