Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Belgian paysage by Modest Huys was auctioned at Sothebys in London in May 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,971.15). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Modest Huys - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Wacken, Sneeuw en overstrooming - Neige et inondation, which sold at auction in November 2003 for EUR 22,705.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Belgian paysage von Modest Huys im Mai 2016 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 6.875,00 (€ 8.971,15) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Modest Huys mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Wacken, Sneeuw en overstrooming - Neige et inondation beobachtet, die im November 2003 für EUR 22.705,00 versteigert wurde.
