Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction Impressionist & Modern Art, which included the work La Lecture by Modest Huys. The price achieved of USD 9,375.00 (€ 8,419.40) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Modest Huys - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Wacken, Sneeuw en overstrooming - Neige et inondation, which sold at auction in November 2003 for EUR 22,705.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2016 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit La Lecture von Modest Huys zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 9.375,00 (€ 8.419,40) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Modest Huys mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Wacken, Sneeuw en overstrooming - Neige et inondation beobachtet, die im November 2003 für EUR 22.705,00 versteigert wurde.
