Auction result misses estimated price range

When the work Moon Over Mountains, 1977 by Muhammad Ali was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in October 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 9,562.50 (€ 8,277.79). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Muhammad Ali achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sting Like A Bee, 1978 in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 425,312.50 (€ 368,172.18).
