Muhammad Ali was named Secretary General for the International Year of the Child at the United Nations in 1979. This is one of two identical paintings done to commemorate the International Year of the Child and shows the traditional United Nations flag with a crying child's face substituted for the globe inside the U.N. wreath. The other painting was gifted to the U.N. in 1979.

It achieved a price of USD 10,837.50 (€ 9,381.49), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 35%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Muhammad Ali achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sting Like A Bee, 1978 in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 425,312.50 (€ 368,172.18).

Die Arbeit UN International Year of the Child, 1979 von Muhammad Ali wurde im Oktober 2021 in der Auktion TCM Presents ... It's a Knockout! bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 10.837,50 (€ 9.381,49) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 35%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Muhammad Ali erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sting Like A Bee, 1978 im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 425.312,50 (€ 368.172,18).
