This artwork by Neri di Bicci achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in January 2010. In the Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture auction, the work Tobias And The Angel sold for USD 37,500.00 (€ 27,036.77) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Neri di Bicci achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Martyrdom of Saint Januarius: panel from a predella in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 325,250.00 (€ 413,233.79).

Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Neri di Bicci erzielen.
