Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Goldfish by Nguyen Huyen was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in July 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 75,000.00 (€ 8,217.26). Other works by Nguyen Huyen have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in April 2018 by the work Nue De Mademoiselle Haï Duong (Miss Haï Duong 'S Nude) at HKD 150,000.00 (€ 15,827.40).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Goldfish von Nguyen Huyen im Juli 2020 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 120.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 75.000,00 (€ 8.217,26) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Nguyen Huyen wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im April 2018 die Arbeit Nue De Mademoiselle Haï Duong (Miss Haï Duong 'S Nude) mit HKD 150.000,00 (€ 15.827,40).
