Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Still Life with an Olive by Nicolas Party was auctioned at Phillips in Hong Kong in October this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 26,000,000.00 – 40,000,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 25,860,000.00 (€ 3,127,278.58). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nicolas Party - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Blue Sunset, which sold at auction in November last year for HKD 52,050,000.00 (€ 6,458,979.95).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Still Life with an Olive von Nicolas Party im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Phillips in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 26.000.000,00 – 40.000.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 25.860.000,00 (€ 3.127.278,58) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Nicolas Party mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Blue Sunset beobachtet, die im November letzten Jahres für HKD 52.050.000,00 (€ 6.458.979,95) versteigert wurde.
