Auction result well in line with expectations
The work La fenêtre ouverte by Pablo Picasso was auctioned at Christies in London in March last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 14,000,000.00 – 24,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 16,319,500.00 (€ 19,348,603.98) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Pablo Picasso have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Les femmes d'Alger (Version 'O') in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 179,365,000.00 (€ 163,148,080.77).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit La fenêtre ouverte von Pablo Picasso kam im März letzten Jahres bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 14.000.000,00 – 24.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 16.319.500,00 (€ 19.348.603,98) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pablo Picasso auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Les femmes d'Alger (Version 'O') im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 179.365.000,00 (€ 163.148.080,77).
