Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Alte Bäume by Paul Klee was auctioned at Christies in Paris in March last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 44,100.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul Klee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bunte Landschaft in November last year with an auction result of USD 4,860,000.00 (€ 4,707,933.74).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Alte Bäume von Paul Klee im März letzten Jahres bei Christies in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 44.100,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Paul Klee erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bunte Landschaft im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.860.000,00 (€ 4.707.933,74).
