Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Pedro Reyes could be acquired at Phillips in New York in May 2017 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Latin America auction, the work Disarm (Harmonica) changed hands for USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,674.97) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pedro Reyes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Guitarra, which sold at auction in March 2021 for USD 20,160.00 (€ 17,167.67).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Pedro Reyes konnte im Mai 2017 bei Phillips in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Latin America wechselte die Arbeit Disarm (Harmonica) für USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.674,97) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Pedro Reyes mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Guitarra beobachtet, die im März 2021 für USD 20.160,00 (€ 17.167,67) versteigert wurde.
