This artwork by Penry Williams achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2009. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work A Passiontide Procession sold for GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,235.05) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00. Admittedly, works by Penry Williams have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mass for the Reapers in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 16,450.00 (€ 26,075.28).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Penry Williams erzielte im März 2009 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Christie's Interiors wurde die Arbeit A Passiontide Procession für GBP 3.000,00 (€ 3.235,05) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.200,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Penry Williams auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mass for the Reapers im Juni 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.450,00 (€ 26.075,28).
