Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Passiontide procession by Penry Williams was sold in the British and Continental Pictures auction at Christies in London in March 2002. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 822.50 (€ 1,344.57) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Penry Williams achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mass for the Reapers in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 16,450.00 (€ 26,075.28).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A Passiontide procession von Penry Williams wurde im März 2002 in der Auktion British and Continental Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 822,50 (€ 1.344,57) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Penry Williams erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mass for the Reapers im Juni 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.450,00 (€ 26.075,28).
