Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2018 Christies in London held the auction Photographs, which included the work Maureen Gallagher and a night feeder at Hog Ranch for 'Last word from Paradise', Feb. 1987 by Peter Beard. The price achieved of GBP 40,000.00 (€ 45,549.27) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 35,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Beard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Orphaned Cheetah Cubs, Mweiga, near Nyeri, Kenya, March 1968 in October 2017 with an auction result of USD 672,500.00 (€ 577,352.34).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2018 führte Christies in London die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Maureen Gallagher and a night feeder at Hog Ranch for 'Last word from Paradise', Feb. 1987 von Peter Beard zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 40.000,00 (€ 45.549,27) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 35.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Peter Beard erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Orphaned Cheetah Cubs, Mweiga, near Nyeri, Kenya, March 1968 im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 672.500,00 (€ 577.352,34).
