Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Setting Off by Peter Howell for USD 1,512.00 (€ 1,290.32). This price was achieved in the auction The Collection of Mr. and Mrs. Bertram R. Firestone at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Peter Howell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A set of four polo scenes at a polo match at Cowdray Park: Going for the Ball, Taking a Backhander, Where is it gone? and Half-Time in December 2005 with an auction result of USD 7,800.00 (€ 6,586.73).
