Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Hall, Canal Street Pier by Peter Hujar was sold in the Reframing Beauty: A Private Seattle Collection auction at Phillips in New York in October 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,600.00 (€ 10,907.20) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Hujar achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work David Wojnarowicz Reclining (II) in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 157,500.00 (€ 136,340.03).
