Upper estimate price exceeded by 26 %.
The work Le Chapeau épinglé, 1rè planche by Pierre-Auguste Renoir was sold in the Prints and Multiples auction at Christies in London in October this year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,820.00 (€ 8,345.95), 26% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pierre-Auguste Renoir achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Berthe Morisot et sa fille, Julie Manet in May last year with an auction result of USD 24,435,000.00 (€ 22,770,478.05).
