This artwork by Pierre de Clausade achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in February 2002. In the BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES auction, the work Notre-Dame from the banks of the Seine at winter sold for GBP 1,880.00 (€ 3,067.97) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Pierre de Clausade; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Les Peupliers, Loire sold at auction in January 2008 with the realized price of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,691.90).
