Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2021 Christies in London held the auction The Collector: Online, which included the work L'Accolade No. 2 (The Embrace No. 2) And Vainqueur Du Derby (Derby Winner) by Pierre-Jules Mêne. The price achieved of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,999.22) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pierre-Jules Mêne - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work L'Accolade, which sold at auction in May 2006 for GBP 21,600.00 (€ 31,528.96).

Im Mai 2021 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Collector: Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit L'Accolade No. 2 (The Embrace No. 2) And Vainqueur Du Derby (Derby Winner) von Pierre-Jules Mêne zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 7.999,22) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Pierre-Jules Mêne mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit L'Accolade beobachtet, die im Mai 2006 für GBP 21.600,00 (€ 31.528,96) versteigert wurde.
