Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In June last year Christies in Paris held the auction 20th/21st Century: Paris Evening Sale, which included the work Peinture 143 x 202 cm, 4 décembre 1970 by Pierre Soulages. Here, the upper estimate of EUR 2,000,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 2,082,000.00. Admittedly, works by Pierre Soulages have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Peinture 195 x 130 cm, 4 août 1961 in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 20,141,700.00 (€ 17,845,042.97).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juni letzten Jahres führte Christies in Paris die Auktion 20th/21st Century: Paris Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Peinture 143 x 202 cm, 4 décembre 1970 von Pierre Soulages zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 2.000.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 2.082.000,00 einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pierre Soulages auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Peinture 195 x 130 cm, 4 août 1961 im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 20.141.700,00 (€ 17.845.042,97).
