Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March last year Christies in London held the auction The Art of the Surreal Evening Sale, which included the work L'endroit du décor by René Magritte. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 750,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 781,200.00 (€ 926,200.52). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by René Magritte achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work L’empire des lumières in March last year with an auction result of GBP 59,422,000.00 (€ 70,451,468.85).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion The Art of the Surreal Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit L'endroit du décor von René Magritte zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 750.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 781.200,00 (€ 926.200,52) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von René Magritte erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit L’empire des lumières im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 59.422.000,00 (€ 70.451.468,85).
